Our mailing lists have been very quiet lately and I know that we are all trying to recover
from the summer activities and getting ready for the looong and cooold winter season..
Well, you didn't hear from me for a while, but I didn't sit on my rear end.
Together with a few German friends we are trying to transcribe the church books
from the Camden German church.
WOW, this has been quite a job, but when we are ready, we will add about 15,000
German emigrants to our databases.
Now I am trying to get some help. Is there someone out there who has access to
passenger lists on the internet and could get me a copy of it.
Very often I get demands for this and this would very helpful..
In addition, If I could get some HELP in transcribing them, that would be a fulfillment
of one of my dreams..
Sorry, I don't have access to the passenger lists ...
BUT, I'll be glad to help in any other way I can. What's entailed in the transcribing ? Is knowledge of the German language required ? I don't have that either but perhaps a good online translation system would work ?
I have limited knowledge of spread sheets but I can figure them out I think. Please send the sample with instructions as too what needs to be done and I can start almost any time. Hopefully I can do a few at a time. I would think this isn't something to be completed in a short time frame.
