I'm looking for information on Johannes Heinrich Heitkamp (John Henry) born
3 Feb 1805 in Oldenburg, Germany and died 18 Jan 1887 (some say 21 Sep 1870)
in Egypt, Mercer County, Ohio. Married on 17 Feb 1833 in Damme, Oldenburg,
Germany to Maria Catherina Trimpe. She was born 6 April 1808 in a province
of Oldenburg, Germany. Some say this date is 20 March 1809. She died 21
September 1870 in Egypt, Mercer County Ohio. I can't seem to get any
confirmation on these ancestors. It seems that there is conflicting
information on their parents, especially with the Trimpe side. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Kim,

The couple married on February 17, 1833 in Damme were listed as Johann
Heinrich Heidkamp and Catharina Maria Trimpe. Both we born/baptized in Damme's
parish. He was born on December 21, 1805 to Johan Henrich Heitkamp and Catharina
Maria König. She was born on March 30, 1809 to Gerd Trimpe and Agnes
Clausing. I don't know if the couple married on February 17th is your couple who came
to America, but that's the information provided for them in the Damme church
records. Both the marriage and baptism records agree.

Good luck,
Don
