One of my moms cousins married into a family with a similar surname to one of the surnames you mention.
Sibum.
I think the way they spelled the name was Siebum. My GGM RoseMary Krawiecki-Feldhaus had a sister named Mary whose daughter Carol Lee maried Richard Siebum..and I again stretch..... but you never know. The Krawiecki family livedi in the vacinity of Nashville, Washington, Illinois and belonged to the predominately polish St. Michaels in Radom, Illinois.
An aunt of my GGm Rose Krawiecki-Feldhaus husband was Adelaide Feldhaus-Mercier. Do you know of Mercier or Merscer might also have been pronouced Mersher or Mersker?
