Probobly not helpful, but I write anyway. My fathers family Sahs from Bergedorf, Germany and mother was Schmidt from Sande, near Bergedorf. Hamburg area today I think. I guess I write in asking if maybe your family had ties to St. Louis, Missouri.
In St. Louis county my ancestors owned home. There was a family Wolf who lived down the street from us. My father best friend was of the name Hartcastle who were also german and lived on the same street as my father growing up.
The Wolf family lived on another street but same street as a home my grandmother owned. My grandmother Schmidt owned this home in St. Louis County before it became my fathers house.
