I am looking for information from families in Glandorf in about 1854. My great-grandfather was born there at that time and came to the United States. He changed his last name and I don't know what it was. Only a few people knew but never told. I am looking for church records to review. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Dale,
My computer is acting up so I'm starting a new run. Anyway, I think you
might be right about the shiplist which includes Theodor Pauk. That is good
news for sure!! I checked the German telephone listing for Pauk and
Glandorf. They show four listings of 4 Pauk names from Bad Laer (which is a
very small town near Glandorf). There are 124 listings in all of Germany for
the name of Pauk. I'll do some more work for that name - I have access to
the Census at home.
I really think you're on the right trail! I hope so.
