Hello. I am a new user to this platform and am trying to trace the Hupp or Hoop family that I believe left Germany in the early 1700s for America. Is there a way to filter the names from the Metasearch based on emigration dates and other information? Thanks.

I do not see the magnifying glass, but I have been out to the Metasearch and was hoping to find a way to search by date range rather than just name. Am I missing something?

23 and Me says that people with similar DNA are from Baden Wurrtemburg, Bavaria and Hesse but I don’t really know.

DNA does not really give you a clue were to look. Baden, Bavaria and Hesse are states, that is no help. You need a paper trail.
Who is the earliest ancestor for whom you know first names and birth data?
Most important: Did you talk to all of your oldest relatives, have you asked whether they know anything or have any papers? What they know gets lost when they are gone.
Next, you can look for immigration and census information. You can do that on familysearch. You have to register, but it is free. You would search for ancestors in historic records. You could also try a 2-week free trial on Ancestry.
You will probably find several persons with the same or similar names and ages, but spouses’ names might help to identify the correct one.
