I am looking for the parents of Mary (Marie) Krüger (Krueger) born 27 Jan 1865 in Holstein. She emigrated to the USA in 1881 at age 16. She married Ulrich Theesfeld on 27 Aug 1881 in Illinois. Any help is appreciated.

Did she emigrate by herself, or did she come with her family or any family for that matter? Look for the county marriage record and/or the church record—if they were married in a church. One of those records might give parents’ names. There are Theesfeld families living near Pomeroy, Iowa (Calhoun or Pocahontas County). The people who settled in that area were from Schleswig Holstein. Look for various spellings of the name: Kruger, Krueger, Krüger, Kreger when researching. Good Luck!
