Hi Pattie,
I just did some quick searching in a database that I subcribe to and I found
the following record.
Ship: Saale
Date of Arrival: September 15, 1891
Port of Departure: Bremen, Germany and Southampton, England
Port of Arrival: New York
Microfilm Roll: 575
Line: 52
List Number: 1428
Mathilde Galdas, 19, f, no occupation, German citizen, destination PA
Ludwig Braun, 3, m, no occupation, German citizen, destination NY
It looks like Mathilde was traveling, perhaps, with a person named
Philippine Ankerbrand or Ankerbrant, female, aged 49. This person was also going to PA
and the two records are joined with a marking in the column for destination.
Clearly Ludwig was going to NY.
Also, I searched the 1930 census and found Ludwig and his family. Living
with them was his mother. It lists her immigration year as 1891. I hope this
helps. If you would like me to look for anything else please just let me know.
Regards.
