I will not be joining the Facebook group and am wondering if the group will be monitored as to who joins ?
Sorry to hear that.. Yes the group will be monitored as to who joins.
For now, I have to approve the membership to the group, and I hope that I can find someone soon
to help me with that and the "maintenance" of the group.
Will it be restricted to Germany-passenger-list members ?
No, anybody with interest in genealogy can join..
My tree does contain living members having
little or no interest in Genealogy that could be exposed as others search for say second cousin maternalmembers that would request connections or just get added to a Facebook friend list. Do I need to remove all living from my three online trees.
I have to say it over and over again, this new Facebook group has nothing NOTHING to do with any of our
mailing lists and databases. NOBODY in the whole world has access to any of your data,
unless you publish it yourself anywhere on the internet.
When you join our group you are not asked for any private information. Some include a true picture,some just a fake one. It would be nice if you introduce yourself, but you have no obligation for anything..
I just can't understand that some of you get the idea that their family tree will be shown anywhere.
This group is just a more "modern" means of communicating with each other..
