IDA HENRIETTE FRIEDERIKE CAROLINE LAURA AUST, born March 18, 1827 in Brieg, Silesia. Died December 31, 1910.
(My great great grandmother)
Her father was IGNATZ AUST. His occupation was royal head mining auditor. Her father-in-law, JOHANN HEINRICH KERL, was also a head mining auditor, (her future husband, GUSTAV HANUS also became a mining auditor). Her mother was SOPHIE WILHELMINE CATHERINE REINHARDT. (Her first marriage was to REINHARDT) IDA’S older sister was JOHANNE HENRIETTE MINNA OTTILIE AUST, born March 6, 1821 in Brieg. Her two older brothers were HEINRICH HERMANN HUGO AUST, born April 29, 1823 in Brieg. He was a pharmacist in Löwen which is near Brieg. Her other brother was HEINRICH OTTO AUGUST AUST born in Brieg, Sept. 14, 1822. He attended the Royal Grammar School in Brieg and graduated from high school in 1841.
IDA was raised by an aunt who treated her very well.
Ida moved from Brieg to Tarnowitz, Silesia, now called Tarnowskie Góry, Poland and in 1847 to Burgk, Saxony. [Near Dresden] She was married in Dresden in 1847, at age 20, to GUSTAV HANUS. Later she moved to Potschappel and Neu-Coschutz which are in the same area as Burgk. She had her first two children in Saxony. Her husband was expelled from Saxony in 1851 and she moved with him about 110 miles east to Hermsdorf unter dem Kynast, Silesia. Hermsdorf is now called Sobieszow, which is part of Jelenia Gora, Poland.
“Gustav died in 1855 at age 36. Ida was 28. She emigrated about 1859 with her three children, Paul Henry age 4, Betty Ida Johanna age 8, and Gustavus Charles age 11. She married Robert George.
Ida Hanus George died on Dec. 31, 1910 at 2316 Gilpin St. Denver, CO.
