Erzdizese Paderhorn Archiv Frage

(Bitte entschuldigen Sie diesen Computer bersetzung.

Gre,

John Hartmann

(Please excuse this computer translation. I do not know German. The original English is at the bottom.)

Does the archdiocese of Paderhorn archive have church records from after 1874, or must I inquire of each parish separately? I e-mailed the archive for information about a marriage sometime between 1875 and 1881. They said I could hire someone who could search microfilms up to 1874. I already have access to the same microfilms through the LDS (Mormon) Family History Centers here in the USA. My problem is locating a record of an event after 1874.

Hello John,

records after 1874 usually aren't available at the Bistumsarchiv, you need to have a look at the civil registers. Birth records past 1874 up to 1899/1900 should be in the municipal archives nowadays, for birth records past 1899/1900 you need to contact the competent civil registry office. I hope that helps
