Your question and answer are correct, Maalck is Malk today. It is in the
Eldena church parish and the records are microfilmed by the FHCenter.
I have also a Engel in our family from Maalck, Carolina Sophia Louisa Lisette
Engel, born 4 Oct 1829, she married Johann Jochim Christian Friederich Franz
Hann, her father was Otto Ernst Christian Engel, mother Dorothea Christina
Hilgendorf from Maalck, M-S. They came to America in 1863 and settled in
Grand Island, NE.
I have reviewed the two microfilms from that parish, # 0069086 & 87 and
remember seeing other Engel's
