Hi Barbara: Thanks so much. WOW!! I knew Bruns was one of the most common names in Hannover/Niedersachsen but I didn't expect such a long list and I'm sure it's far from complete. I shall write to the Archiv as you suggest and see if they can give me some dates before I order any records. Incidentally, for those others who are struggling thru this site: When you hit Gliederung, it comes up no data found. I hit Konkordance and it brought up the list of towns. Jane

Hello,
The Giederung gives the list of towns for Osnabrück and Wolfenbüttel,
but not Hannover. For Hannover the town is usually given right in the code
when you click on a person's number. It appears Konkordance works as well. I
wonder if you can get any return by doing a search on the first page after
clicking on Hannover. I have never gotten that to work. It appears you
fill in 1 to 4 fields, but I don't know where it leads. I have always used
the other way after clicking on Index.
