ich suche nähere Informationen zu den Familien VON DER SCHERR und PETERS aus
Eidewarden (und Umgebung). Besonders interessierten mich Vorfahren vor 1800
und Auswanderer der Familie. Kann jemand helfen?

I'm working off the Wiefelstede CD here, and have a couple of questions. Does anyone have further information on these two sources?

To what does the 1757 Seelenrigister refer?

Many occupations are give with the date 1822. To what are they referring?

Hello,

in Oldenburg the ministers were asked by the synode to comprise a "Seelenregister" (soul register) from time to time, a list of all the souls in their parish. The ministers were differenly eager in their work, but the Wiefelstede Seelenregister of 1757 is very helpful for genealogists. 1822 is another date for a Wiefelstede Seelenregister. This is also better explained in the CD's preface. The Seelenregister often give data that the church registers do not, e.g. professsions.

I have another question about something in the Wiefelstede CD:

At #6164 is KUCK, Johann Christian, Heuermann in Gristede, Anbauer in Gristede, Holten Barg.

Can anyone help me with the meaning of "Holten Barg"?
