Good Day to you all,
My ability to write in German is poor so please excuse me writing this in English.
I am able to read German reasonably well, so a reply in German is as welcome as a reply in English.
I am searching for any information about Wilhelm Ahrend and Emilie Roennebeck, my mother’s maternal grandparents. They were expelled from Kreis Neustettin after the Second World War.
Wilhelm Ahrend was a master brick maker and was the last German lessee of Buchholz Ziegelei located near Soltnitz Kreis Neustettin. While other members of the family fled in 1945 ahead of the Russian advance, Wilhelm stayed at the Ziegelei hoping to continue the business. According to my mother, Wilhelm and his wife Emilie were only expelled in 1946 or 1947 and were resettled in Neumünster
Schleswig-Holstein.
My mother had stated that Wilhelm Ahrend was born about 1870 and came from a farming family in the province of Posen. In addition to German, Wilhelm also spoke Polish.
According to my mother, Emilie Roennebeck was born about 1872 in Zehdenick (an der Havel) in Brandenburg.
My mother said both Emilie and Wilhelm died in the 1950s and are buried in or near Krakow am See in Mecklenburg.
Is it possible to find any records pertaining to the resettlement of Wilhelm Ahrend and Emilie Roennebeck in Neumünster or at any other location in Germany?
I would be grateful for any information but I am especially interested in obtaining the date of birth and place of birth of both Wilhelm Ahrend and Emilie Roennebeck.
Kind Regards,
