After my three children were born deaf, we discovered
through genetic counseling that my wife and I are both
carriers of a recessive gene causing deafness.
In response to this, Wilson's disease is also the same way and I have had
that in our line. My neice had a daughter die from this. We are also from
the Hannover area. The common answer to ours is that people from the same
area settled in the same area of the US and must have their lines cross at
some time or another. I hope you find your answer. I also am searching for
where our lines cross or have a common ancestor.
Schlechhausen
In a Church record in Rhineland, an ancestor is said to have come from
Schlechhausen in Hannover. I cannot find a village or town by that name.
I do not know where Rhineland is, but what about the villiage of
Schessinghausen?
If you have ancestors from there, I would be very interested. I have maps
etc and other information. You may contact me direct.
