Colony list

Dear David,

Ok I am backing up again.I keep running into a referance about Germans
being settled in and around
Prussia. It is called a Colony List...

I would be interested in this list, too. All I know is that there is
a list of people coming from Salzburg (Austria). This list is in the
so-called "Gollub-files".
There had been people coming to East- and West-Prussia from all over Europe,
though, including Swedish, British, Danish, people from the Netherlands, etc.

How is there a book on surnames that came to settle there and where they
came from?

There shouldn't be just "a" book, however, I only know of two - the "Gollub"
and the "Nolde-Files" for Austria.

Then again is it some serect record that is hard to find and only researcher
in Poland can look at.

Secret? Probably no. Hard to find? Yes. In Poland? I don't think so.
Maybe someone else can give you more detailed information - always
depending what and who you are looking for?

Kind regards,

Gisela
