Budde, Weidkamp in Herford

I am seeking information on my great-grandparents, Johann Heinrich and
Marie (Weidkamp) Budde, and their families of origin. Johann was born
October 16, 1846 in Herford, Germany to parents unknown; he married
Marie Weidkamp on July 2, 1871. Marie was born in Herford Kreishofer
Westphalia on April 16, 1847, daughter of Christian and Anna Maria
(Hoener) Weidkamp. All of this information has recently been obtained
from their death certificates and obituaries in Quincy, Illinois, were
they settled in 1882.
I would like to find the parents of Johann Budde...oral family history
states he was an illegetimate child given to a Budde family to raise.
Any information on the Budde and Weidkamp families, or the 5 (of their
8) children born in Germany.. Carrie, Hannah, Anna & Augusta (twins) and
Heinrich would be greatly appreciated. I am quite new to research, and
aplogize for the length of this query Thank you!

The emigration record for your ancestors is listed in the index for the
Regierungsbezirk Minden and essentially an identical listing in the 2nd
volume of the series on Wittekindsland for emigrants from Kreis Herford.
Volume 2 may still be available from the Chamber of Commerce in Quincy,
where I acquired it some years ago.

In the section on emigrants with consent from the town of Herford,

1882
Budde, Joh. Heinrich, Maurer aus der Alstdter Feldmark, geb. 16.10.1846 zu
Herringhausen, mit Ehefrau A. M. Ilsabein Weitkamp, geb. 16.4.1847 zu
Eickum, und Kindern Karoline Friederike, geb. 2.4.1872, Friederike Louise,
geb. 18.4.1874, Louise Wilhelmine Auguste, geb. 8.5.1878, A. Christ.
Friederike, geb. 8.5.1878, und August Heinrich, geb. 1.3.1881.

Birthdates are read day/month/year. Herringhausen was in the Enger parish
and Eickum in the Herford parish. LDS has likely filmed these parish
records. You can check at www.familysearch.org . Birthdates are listed at
the christening so you could see if he is listed in the Enger parish
records with Budde or other parents. To trace the female line back you need
to look at the Herford parish records.

By chance I was in Germany visiting relatives in Kirchlengern near Herford
when you posted this. I saved it until I came back from the visit and could
access my books.
