Hello Frank,
the distance between Bohmte and Bremen is about 100 km or 35 miles.
The railway service for this line started about 1847, from Bremen to Bremerhaven 1862.

I assume they was go to Bremen by horse coach or feet. From Bremen to Bremerhaven they must use a small vessel (called Weserkahn) and needed 2 - 3 days for this part.

The book "750 Jahre Twistringen" says that the railway connection between Osnabr�ck and
Bremen was opened 15th May 1875.
