Anyone have agood idea of the distance in Kilometers between Bohmte and
Bremen and was there rail service that was in existance in 1846. I have read
that Bremerhaven was established until 1820 and therefore the port of
departure for this area would be Bremerhaven in 1846. Also have read that the
reason for Bremerhaven was silting of the river Weser which made the port of
Bremen unuseable for ocean vessels, and that rail service from Bremen to
Bremenhaven was established in 1862, making the transit in 1846 by horse
coach. Is this about correct? Frank Jurenka
Bremerhaven was taken into use in 1847 for the transatlantic shipping instead of
Bremen.
The distance in kilometers from Bohmte to Bremen is 98.
That is my home line when I go by train.
