This is not true! The Passenger Lists that list the home village are the
Hamburg Passenger Lists that were written in Hamburg before the ship left
Germany. The only Passenger Lists at the US Archives are the arrival records.
They are not the same!

I believe GTA is based on the arrival records, which are at the National
Archives. Some arrival records list the village of origin, some do
not. Those whose ancestors left from Hamburg should check the departure
lists from Hamburg, but obviously not all emmigrants passed through
Hamburg.
