August Jakob Demski from Danzig

Hello to all from Australia,

Trying to trace my Great Oma and Opa and their respective families. All the information I have is as follows:

August Jakob Demski, born Sep 18 1878 in Danzig
Katharine Elisabeth Lwner born Feb 14 1881 in Danzig

They married around 1899, unsure where as first child born in 1899 was not born in Danzig
Their children were baptised in Ev. Luth. Church so not Catholic.
They moved to Lneburg after 1912

Can anyone help me with this search, have found very little information on these surnames whilst searching.

Mark,
I am unable to access *Danzig Einwohnerbuch-
1942<http://www.many-roads.com/libraries/prussia-histories/adressbucher/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=Danzig+Einwohnerbuch-+1942>on
your site - for some time.
I see this message: '*The page you tried to reach doesn't exist.'
* Any hints?
Kind regards,
Bronwyn.

Tania,

You may want to look for Demski in the German telephone directory. There are 360 Demskis altogether. Since you know August & Katharine Demski moved to Lneburg (today in the German State of Niedersachsen/Lower Saxony), you may want to try and contact those Demskis who still live in the area (postcodes starting with 29...). You find the directory at

http://www2.das telefonbuch.de/

Fill in "Demski" where it says "Wer/Was" and hit "Finden", and the first of 18 Demski pages will appear.

Hallo Tania,

There is a Danzig-group with a lot of specialists. They just helped me to
trace back two generations of ancestors.

Registration is free. It is worth to give it a try.
