I am trying to find the birthplace of Engelbert AUE. Born in "Hannover' 12
Nov 1810. Married in Germany to Engel HELMES (HELMICH or some variation).
Daughter Elisabeth born 11 November 1843. With his family, he immigrated
in 1844/45 to Missouri, USA. Religion was Catholic.
I have checked all records for both Engelbert and Elisabeth, (and her
issue), in Missouri and Minnesota, where they later lived. All records
just say "Hannover'. I found nothing at the Family History Library, nor on
passenger lists.
I have located records on the net for Aues with first or middle names of
Engelbert in the Hildeshime area, but not the one I am looking for. They
were in the villages/towns of Bavenstedt, Einum, Bettmar, Lamspringe,
Dingelbe and Hildeshime.
Two yeas ago I corresponded with "Nds. Institut fuer Historische
Regionalforschung e.V." , and "Nieders. Staatsarchiv" in Osnabruck without
any success.
I will greatly appreciate any help from individuals, Genealogy Societies
etc. Professional researchers who might be willing to take on this
