Dear Norma,
I do not know how you find time to do look ups for us, but I want to
thank you first for your generosity, I know how much time it takes
having spent several days doing research in the local National Archives
center.
I wondered if you would mind checking for my GGGM, a Anna Marie Louise
Shurmann or Schurmann, who had a travel document issued in mid 1850
(they were good for only one year, so limits the search to mid 1851).
She was traveling from Bremin to Baltimore, but I do not know the ship
or precise date. She was 22 years old, and originated from the town of
Wittlage in what was the KonigReich of Hannover at that time. Many thanks,
Jeff

I don't know if I helped you or not. Here is what I found:
Schurman:
Andreas male traveling alone
Caroline, Fredrich, Gustav and Joseph traveling as a family
Christoph male traveling alone.
I did not copy down the data as I didn't think it relevant. If it turns out
these are some relatives, let me know and I will get the detail.
Shmann - Anna Marie female age 29 farmer from Baden was on the ship VENICE
from Havre to NY arriving 06 Nov 1850
Schurmann
G (all that is known)
John H
Kath. female
All traveling alone. Same thing here.. If you think these might be
pertinent, let me know and I will get details.
I tried ALLLL spellings I could think of and this is all I found for the time
period you gave.
Sorry
Norma
