I think that perhaps the town you are looking for, Wesferling, could be
Weferlingen, in Saxony-Anhalt (Lower Saxony). It is 2.4 north of the town of
Waldeck, where the Illinois WOELTJE's came from. And about 50 miles to the
southwest, is Gross Mahnor. If you are looking at a large map, you'll find
Weferlingen and Waldeck just slightly northeast of Helmstedt, which is west
of the capital city of Magdeburg. You said you had already located Gross
Mahnor.
