I am researching the Windmeyer family of Minden which, I believe, is in Westfalen. William Florence Windmeyer was born in Minden in May 1835 to Hermann Heinrich Windmeyer and his wife, Louise Karsten (also spelled Carsten) Windmeyer. I would love to hear from anyone with information about the Windmeyers or any suggestions on how to get past the blocks I have encountered before they immigrated to the U.S. in the 1850s, I would love to hear from you!
