Are there any members on this list who are from Wimmer or Rabber in the
Hannover region? I have tried several times to make contact with another
genealogist from that area who may be able to help me with my family origins. There
were several families from that area that immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio and
were members in the two early Lutheran churches there. I am working on
several of the families but have not been able to get much information from German
records. I appreciate any help that you can provide.

maybe I can help a little bit. My greatgrandmother was born in Harpenfeld,
which today, as Rabber and Wimmer too, belong to the town of Bad-Essen,
Niedersachsen (Lower Saxonia). Some of her ancestors emigrated to the USA:
Jobst Hermann Obrock, * July, 3, 1811 with his wife Margarethe Luise Meyer
and Johann Friedrich Wilhem Nordsieck, * Jan.,23,1805 with his wife Anna
Maria Klara Elisabeth Engel Buescher, * May, 10, 1811. Up till now I was not
able to find their immigartion records somewhere.
Interestingly, when I was a child in 1962, we were visited from a certain
Mrs. Wilma Fischer (Fisher?), who lived in Cleveland, Ohio, and whose Aunt
was my above mentioned greatgrandmother. I have not been able to establish
the relationship betweeen Wilma Fischer an my ancestors in more detail.

Lintorf.
