Hi Everyone:
I am new to this list and new to researching records from Germany.
I have spent the last 7 years researching Lutheran German Russian records.
I am trying to start researching my wife's mothers side of the family tree.
Her mothers grandfather was Edward (Eduard) William (Wilhelm) Willner b. 02 July 1867. Eduard's parents were Gottlob Willner b. 24 Aug 1833 and d. in 1887 at Schollwits/Balkenhein/Germany. Gottlob married Helene Seliger b. 18 Feb 1838 at Pendendork/Germany d. 1898 in the US.
Other children of Gottlob and Helene were.
Herny William (Heinrich Wilhelm) Willner b. 17 July 1860
Augusta Marie Pauline Willner b. 13 Jan 1869 at Zirlau/Schlesien/Germany.
Marie Willner b. 1870
Ida Willner b. 22 (23) Nov 1873
William John (Wilhelm Johann) Willner b. 09 Feb 1874
I am not sure but I think all 6 children were born at Zirlau/Schlesien/Germany. They were all baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Frieberg/Schlesien/Germany.
I need some help I think Pendendock should be Penkendorf/Schlesien. The church records that are available seem to be Catholic and too early in the 1700's. I need 1838.
Where are the Lutheran church or civil records for Frieberg, Schlesien??? They do not seem to be available through the LDS so they were not filmed. Catholic records for Frieberg are available. Would the Lutheran records be in with the Catholic records???
Schollwitz death records seem to be available.
Or would the Lutheran records be in the Hohenfrieberg records???
I am also looking for other Willner's and Seliger's who may be related. Or who may have some information.
Thankyou.
