william grams and his wife rosa thon were living near kolmar (now chodeiz,
poznan, poland) in posen, prussia in 1852. they spoke german and were
members of the evangelical church.
willam and rosa thon grams had at least four children:
1. martin friedrich grams was born in kolmar in 1852. he immigrated to
the united states in 1881. he and his wife, emilie pahl lived in fall creek,
eau claire county, wisconsin.
2. gustave grams remained in prussia.
3. emilie grams immigrated to the united states. she married fredric
kriesel.
4. paulina caroline grams immigrated to the united states. she married
ernest brueske. they lived in fall creek, eau claire county, wisconsin.
can anyone help me add to the little i know about william and rosa?

While Posen was part of Prussia it was not a part of either East or
West Prussia. These two were provinces within the larger state and
later kingdom of Prussia.

I dodn't think genealogy.net has any Posen lists. Perhaps because
this was a heavily Polish area within the German Empire? See:
