I am trying to locate the parents of William Brutkuhl born in 1832 in
Westfallen, Prussen
I have found his name listed in the International Genealogical Index
and believe that he may have been born in UNNA or Mark Hamm. He
emigrated to the USA probably around !855-1857. I have not found his
ship but believe he came to New York. They were recruiting for the
undermanned regiments in the Utah Territory to put down the Mormon
Rebellion. They were seeking new immigrants and BRUTKUHL evidently
enrolled on June 20 1857 and was killed on Oct. 12 1857 and is buried
in Utah.
I would like any information pertaining to his parents. Maybe someone
is searching church books in Unna or Mark Hamm or Boenan.
