Wille Family in Uelzen, Lüneburg, Niederscahsen

I am searching for my great grandmother's WILLE family in Hansen, Uelzen, Lüneburg
.
She was Elisabet Wille born April 8, 1852. I think her father was Heinrich Wille born about 1821, her mother, Dora born about 1830 and two brothers Wilhe born about 1862 and Fr born about 1866. They were on the same page on the same ship coming to the USA.

The Ship Vandalia's manifest says they were from Hansen, Uelzen, Lüneburg. They left Hamburg on May 4, 1872 and arrived in New York on May 27, 1872. I think they were Lutheran.

They went to the Chicago area.

Where do I find the church records for this family?

Thank you.

Marlene

Hi Marlene,

Are you anywhere near a LDS (Mormon) Center? The village of Hansen is
quite small, so one could presume they went to church in Uelzen. The LDS
have microfilm for Uelzen, including church records:

Kirchenbuch, 1529-1963 Evangelische Kirche Sankt Marien Ülzen (Kr. Ülzen)

You can go to the LDS center and order the films and view them there.
They have many other types of Uelzen records as well. Go to :
www.familysearch.org and then go to Family History Catalog and do a search
there. (There are also many records for Lüneburg).

Good luck,
Barbara

There should have been other parishes more nearby then the one in Uelzen, for
example the one in Bohlsen or even in Gerdau. So it might be worth taking also a
look into these parish books. Greetings Hans Peter Albers
