Wilhelm WERNER from Breig/Brzeg (b1860) to Illinois (Cook Co.)

Schlesien-l@genealogy.net

This post is for anyone researching the WERNER, TOOKEY, VEESER, WEISSE or
STOCK surnames, or those interested in helping me with some advise. I am
rather new to genealogy and have inherited several original documents and
photos from the mid 1900s back to the late 1800s.

I am seeking more info on my following ancestors: Wilhelm WERNER, born about
1860 in Brieg, (then Prussian province of Silesia now called Brzeg, Poland),
married on 27th Feb 1892 in Cook Co., Illinois USA to Helen Marie WEISSE,
born 1870 in Priebus, (then Prussian province of Brandenburg, now Klein
Priebus, German State of Saxony, county of Rothenburg)) They had at least
two children, my grandfather Frederick William WERNER, born 22nd Nov 1892 in
Cook Co., Illinois and his older sister Helen (I have an original photo of
Helen Marie and her two young children, taken approx. 1896) Daughter Helen
later married into the TOOKEY family and had at least two sons (My mothers
cousins whom I met when I was a child in the 1960s) Frederick W. WERNER
married on 11th Feb 1920 in Illinois to Pauline Elizabeth STOCK (born 11th
Feb 1895 in Friedrichshafen, Germany near Lake Constance.)

Schlosser Georg STOCK, (Catholic, born about 1850- 1877) was married to
Berta VEESER (born: 27th of Aug 1869, baptized Catholic: 29th Aug 1869, in
Immenstadt, Bodensee, Bayern) They resided in Friedrichshafen,
Baden-Wuertemberg supposedly had at least six children when they had my
maternal grandmother. I have an original photo of S. Georg STOCK in military
uniform taken approx. 1892. Georg supposedly died when Pauline was about 18
mos, (a tragedy, so the oral history goes ... and no one knew what became of
Pauline's older sibs who didn't emigrate from Germany...) In 1897 shortly
after her husb death, Berta VEESER STOCK, her baby Pauline and Mary MOHRING
(Berta's and Georg's friend, no relation) emigrated to the US, from Havre,
France to New York on/about 1st June 1897. They settled in Cook Co.
Illinois, in or near Chicago. Pauline E. STOCK later married Frederick
William WERNER (B. 22nd Nov 1892, Illinois son of Wilhelm WERNER, mentioned
above. Frederick W. WERNER and Pauline E. Stock WERNER had only one child,
my mother, Bertha Helen WERNER, born 31st Oct 1921.

Now my questions:
1. Does anyone know of this Wilhelm WERNER born about 1860 of Brieg/Brzeg?
I have his original "Final Certificate of Naturalization" signed in Chicago,
Ill on 12th May, 1890

2. Any suggestions on how to go about researching more about him?

3. I have an original photo of S. Georg STOCK in European military uniform
taken approx. 1892: in script in the lower left are the names "Eberle &
Werner" and in the lower right the cap letters "ULM" Does anyone know where
I can get info on this photographer, or tell which country the military
uniform represents?

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank-you!
