Welcome Julie
If you know the religion of your ancestors you can go right to the church in Neuenkirchen to see if they will check the records. Otherwise check both Catholic and Protestant churches.
I found a Neuenkirchen on a Google map and it appears to be northeast of Saarbrucken which is very close to the French border.
Good Luck

Julie, did I mispell Neunkirchen? I went to the LDS family search page and there was no Neuenkirchen but there are films for Neunkirchen. Google also corrected me to Nuenkirchen. If Nuenkirschen is correct go to the LDL library and click places. Neunkirchen will give give you results, including church records.

Hi Julie,
There are at least 17 towns by the name of Neuenkirchen listed in my
German Autoatlas. And 18 towns spelled Neunkirchen!
The LDS lists a Neuenkirchen which is in Westfalen which is very near
what would have been the Hannover border. It is south of Rheine and north of
Steinfurt.
The LDS also lists a Neuenkirchen in Westfalen near Wiedenbrück and
Gütersloh.
Neither of these towns would have been in Hannover. There are several
other Neuenkirchens that are in the Hannover area. Many are spelled
Neunkirchen which adds to the confusion!
Married in Rotterdam? Did they live there then? Did they emigrate from
Europe to elsewhere?
Let us know other information you may have. Have you checked records
like birth or death records of their children, etc.?
Barbara
