What is a Heuermann? What is Heuerling?

Good afternoon,

I have a question then about "Leibzucht". In a Leibzucht situation, is it always a sibling or relative? I ask because I have a 1655 Seelenregister for Ankum, where the term "Leibzucht" is used frequently. I have found the surnames I seek, but not always the given name of the individual. However, I often find the given name under "Leibzucht", and have wondered if this might be the person I'm looking for.

There is another term I see frequently in this register. It appears to be holte or helte. Does anyone know what this means?

Thank you in advance

Hello Linda,

Leibzucht is a small house near the main farm house. It was build for the farm owner if he go in retired.
In the mean time lived there "Heuerleute", this could be siblings/relatives of the farm owner, but mostly lived there other people.

The other are "Plattdütsch" (low german):
hüßolte = Haushalte = households
hüßelte = Bewohner or Einwohner (I think) = inhabitant
