1940 in Sterling, Whiteside Co., Illinois, USA. He married ROSINA W�HRLE
Abt. 1881 in Sterling, Whiteside Co., Illinois, daughter of JOHAN W�HRLE and
ANNA ARNOLD. She was born 18 Apr 1860 in Reichenb�chle, Schiltach, Baden,
GERMANY, and died 10 Nov 1942 in Dixon, Lee Co., Illinois, USA.

Obituary: 04 Nov 1940, Copy (Source: "Obituary," John Schumm a resident of
Dixon for 60 years passed away this morning at 12:15 o'clock at his home 510
Squires avenue. He had been failing for the past five months. Mr. Schumm
operated a tailor shop in Dixon for many years but retired some time ago.
He was born in Weitenburg Germany April 7, 1859 and came to this city in
1880 where he since resided. Surviving him are this widow, five daughters
and one son. Mrs. William Dunn of Stockton, Calif, Mrs. Mary Prescott, Mrs.
Anna Wilson , Mrs. Harriett Benson of this city Mrs. Emma DeCamp of LaGrange
and one son Louis of Dixon. Funeral services will be held at Grace
Evangelical church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the pastor Rev. George
Nielson officiating and with interment in Oakwood.)
