I am looking for information on Neustadt on the Tafelfichte. Is there a
message board that would cover the town?
Best regards,
Martha Pohl

Hi Martha,
The town you're looking for is "Neustadt an der Tafelfichte"
- today called "Nove Mesto pod Smrkem" in Northern
Bohemia.
That's in the Czech Republic. The church books, for example,
you'll find in the State Archives at Litomerice (the former
"Leitmeritz"). Just go to this link and have a look what's
available there:
Regionalseiten offline
Here you'll find the address and other valuable information for
the archive:
Regionalseiten offline
As far as I know, nothing has been filmed by LDS so far, so it
seems that you'll have to have a look yourself or ask people to do
this for you.
The link to a mostly German-speaking mailinglist Hanno Kolbe
already mentioned - you might subscribe to it, perhaps there's
somebody who can respond in English:
http://list.genealogy.net/mailman/listinfo/sudeten.bms-l
Here's the link to the municipal website of Neustadt - though in
Czech only, but it has got some nice pictures and maps:
http://www.nmps.cz/index.htm
or just go to wikipedia
Nové Město pod Smrkem - Wikipedia
(though not much info)
Best wishes and good luck
Matthias (E. Theiner)
Hi Martha,
here's one additional link that I just found
FRÝDLANTSKO
Under "NEW on Frydlantsko.com"
(Was ist neues auf www.Frydlantsko.com ?)
you'll find a lot of useful picture postcards, address
books etc. The gentleman who runs the website
offers scans/copies of everything on CD for a minimal
fee. Just send him an E-Mail (at the top of his website)
and ask him about it.
Good luck
Matthias (E. Theiner)
