I can help you on Juergen Heinrich "Joseph" Wehrkamp. He was my 3rd great grand father. He was born in Jan 1811 in Hannover as of the 1900 census from Minnehaha Co., South Dakota. He is living with his daughter Sophia Wehler.
Juergen died in 1901 in Minnehaha Co., South Dakota. He is buried at the Zion Lutheran Church outside of Hartford.
I found him on a street guide for the East side of Tanner Street in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio in 1846. He was married to Sophia Negeiger. Her maiden name came from her daughter Sophia's death cert.
He never went by the same spelling of his name because he did not know how to read or write.
