Wehrkamp in Dissen area

Hi Barbara,

thank you very much for your last responses. I had a look at the map you have
sent to my own adress. It's great. I will start another attempt to find
informations on the Wehrkamp family right in the Dissen area and I hope this one
will become successful.

By the way I found a clue at your response from July,27th. You are talking
about some books you have seen at your public library by Gary Zimmermann. They
are titled "German Immigrants; List of passengers... -and so on.
I know that a brother of my 3G Grandfahter has emigrated to the states in
1854. All the books I have seen till now are starting in 1855. So I'm still
searching for detailed informations of his emigration.
Would you please take a look into Vol.1 (1985)
It would be great could you find an information on BRUETT (BRUETTE; BRUTT;
BRÜTT), Otto (Nicolaus). In 1854 he was around at an age of 18 years.

Hermann

Hermann,
I will look up that name the next time I go to our library.

However, I have found some sign of your Otto Bruett in the USA. Here is
a cemetery listing which has Otto and other Bruetts listed in Winterset,
Madison County Iowa:

This shows a birth in that same area to Otto and wife:
      Bruett, George F. 00-00-1876* Otto & Sarah A. (Williams)

In fact, if you go to this site and do a search for Bruett, you will find a
listing of 18 places in the archives with that name in that county:

I think those people may be your relatives,
