Hallo Liste,
I am looking for more information on the names Waldow, Scheewen and
Laude. Specifically, Heinrich George Waldow, Caroline Charlotte
Scheewen and Carl Laude, all who were from Zuch, Pommern. I have gotten
back to these individuals using the LDS church website but this is as
far as I can get. Most likely, there are different variations to the
spellings of the names and this is why I'm having trouble.
Heinrich George Waldow married Caroline Charlotte Scheewen on 24.9.1845
in Gramenz. Caroline's father's name is listed as Carl Laude, but I
don't know if this is correct because of the different last names;
unless Caroline was married before to a Scheewen. They had at least 6
children, one of them being my great-great-grandfather, Carl Friedrich
Christoph Waldow.
Does anyone find these names to be familiar? Can anyone recommend any
websites or databases that I could use to further the search? Zuch, as
far as I can determine, is now called Sucha and it is part of Poland.
While I have a fairly decent understanding of the German language, I
don't speak a word of Polish so this one is a little tougher for me to
research.
