Johannes? Eltern waren Schneider Josef Voges und Gertrud du Carrois. Johannes?

I am looking for information about relatives of my great-grandfather, Johannes Bernhard Voges, who was born in Hohenhameln on 28 April 1858. Johannes? father was Schneider Josef Voges, and his mother was Gertrud du Carrois. Witnesses at his baptism were Doris du Carrois, Johanna Deppe, and Bernhard Voges.

Johannes Voges married Sophie Wilhelmine Marie Rackemann in Hanover on 28 October 1881. In 1884 Johannes and Sophie immigrated to Australia with Sophie's father, Heinrich Georg Rackemann and the Rackemann family. Johannes Voges later returned to Germany and married again sometime after November 7th 1901, possibly in Einbeck.

I would be very interested in obtaining any information about the Voges or du Carrois families. Thank you for your time.

Hello Kevin,

If your family was Catholic, you could order the microfilm for
Hohenhameln at a LDS center near you. You could view them there:
Kirchenbuch, 1650-1852 Katholische Kirche Hohenhameln (Kr. Peine)

On the map of Hohenhameln, I see two churches. One could be Evangelical
Lutheran and the other Catholic. The LDS do not have copies of the Lutheran
records.

You might look here: http://meta.genealogy.net/metasuche/index.jsp -
both for the surnames of Voges and others, as well as by the city of
Hohenhameln. The Du Carrois listing sounds French which indicates you may
have some Catholic ancestors.
