Dear Listers,
I have been researching the VIERK, VIERCK, VIERECK surname for some time. My
immigrant VIERK'S settled in Lansing, Cook Co. Illinois. They originated in
Mecklenburg-Schwerin. I have found them in church records in the towns of
Dargun, D�rgelin, Schorrentin, K�merich and the surrounding areas. My most
recent find was a marriage record in the Dargun Church for Joachim Jacob
VIERCKE and Sophia KOHL in 1811. This record states that Joachim Jacob was
from Kamper in Swedish Pommern. I would like to find the church records for
Joachim Jacob . Does anyone know what church is nearby in Swedish Pommern
where perhaps his birth records may be? Also the VIERCK family in D�rgelin
was supposed to own some property there. Perhaps a small farm. Where can I
find these records? I have written to the Archives in Dargun with no
success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
