I am new to the List and have been researching in Hatzenbuhl for the Herrle
family. More of my family came from this area just north of Switzerland.
My GGGrandfather Valentin Kuhnell was born in 1835 in the Pfalz area of
Germany (Alscae Loraine area). He immigrated to New Orleans where he
married Margaretha Mayer born in 1816 in Germany. Possibly he married M.
Mayer in Germany. Valentin Kuhnell was a painter in New Orleans. He had
several children and among them was my Great Grandfather Louis Kuhnell born
08 Mar 1856 in New Orleans. If you have any information on Valentin Kuhnell
or where the Kuhnel, Kunel family orginated, I would appreciate hearing from
you.
