Despite repeated efforts I have not enough German skills to be able to change my membership to my new email address of Mmongoose@tds.net.
Many thanks to those list members who have been so helpful in making the area from which my Grandmother's family came more real to me.

I will be closing my AOL account shortly since this is the only list that has not transferred. Please contact me personally at the address above - Mmongoose@tds.net

Hi Barbara:

At the bottom of every listing on Hanover-L is the
following URL:

Go to it and unsubcribe your old e-mail address and subscribe your new e-mail address.

When the page comes up, there will be a drop-down menu to
the upper right of the page. Select English and then
click on the button to the left and the instructions will
be in English.

As you scroll down the page, you will come to a section where it tells you how to subscribe. Follow the instructions for your new e-mail address.

As you scroll further down the page, there is a section which tells you how to unsubcribe. Follow the instructions for your old e-mail address.

Have any questions, send me an e-mail.

Thank you, Gale, for that information -- I wondered why nothing happened when I selected English. The real place to click must have been buried under the strip ads on my aol web mail.
I really appreciate you and all the others who have explained why everything went wrong in my efforts to change my address - and after feeling more lost than my ancestors, am delighted to have things in order now.

Hi Barbara:

You should find two long boxes on the same line.

The first will say:
Anzeige dieser Seite auf/View this page in

The second box will have the drop down menu for you to select the language you want. It is backward. You select the language in the right box and then click the left box.
