Hello All,

as promised, here is another update..

During the last few month's I have been quite busy in the background
and some of you already might have noticed some changes..

Our Passengerlists Database: Saxonyroots.com
and our Ancestors Database: Saxonyroots.com

have now been merged into a single Database..

To me, it didn't make much sense, having two separate Databases with
essential the same persons, but without any inter-relationship between the two..

Most passengerlists on the web are just plain lists without any connection to the
listed persons and as far as I know, we are going a completely new way..

We are constantly adding new lists and persons and now you can "follow"
every person from birth, through marriage.. immigration.. life in the new country..
and .. up to the end..

You also will be able to attach any information of your ancestors, including pictures,
their life stories and whatever you want...

This huge project is far away from being completed and once in a while might
hit a "bump" and as you know, computers sometimes have a mind of their own
and are not co-operating to well..

Therefore, PLEASE, give me a "hand" and let me know whenever you find any "boo- boos"..

And, as always, if you have any sparetime left, let me know. I surely will a have a "job" for you..

Any suggestions and/or critics about our websites will be very welcome too..

Wolf, the site looks great! I can't seem to get off the opening page though -- is it me? I disabled my popup blocker, but that didn't help.

Well Bob,
at the moment we have a total of 44,540 different surnames in our database saxonyroots.com - Diese Website steht zum Verkauf! - Informationen zum Thema saxonyroots.
and this number will rise constantly..

When you just enter the letter "R" you will get 2,811 surnames starting with that letter
and of course, this is too much.
But it's quite easy to narrow that down. Just enter a few more letters in the box on the left side..

When you enter "Re" you will get only 651 hits..
When you enter "Rei" you will get only 196 hits..
and with "Rein" you will get only 68 hits..
and so on..

Think you can live with that ??

However, when you are looking for the name of "MUELLER" you will only get
a few names starting with the letters "MUELLER", but then the problems start and
you will have 650 persons in the database with that name, meaning that you have to
"sift" through over 30 pages just to look for "Your" person, and this is NOT acceptable...

As soon as I can get around, I will add another box, where you also can enter
the first name of the person.. That would improve things considerably..

Know anything about computer programming and want to give me a hand ??
That would be great !!

Please let me know whenever you have any other suggestions !!
