Actually you don't have to read German, this is a
bilingual list, except for those who post queries only in
one language, so in that viewpoint is is monolingual.
To unscribe, go to the URL at the bottom of each message.
Select English in the upper right box, then click on the
upper left box to select your language.
Then scroll down to the bottom for the instructions on how
to subscribe and unscribe.
I know it is hard to keep up with all the pass words, ID's and user names that one has for various lists, bank accounts, etc. etc. etc. it is hard to keep them all straight. I am included in this problem.
Think of this as a reminder, not a nasty comment, but when you subscribed and monthly thereafter you were/are provided with the required information.
I did the same thing when I changed providers in the past. I went almost two weeks trying to find information I already had.
The Administrators would have to have to read all the queries to sort out requests for Administrative help. Since this is a free list I, try to do my part to limit the burdens placed upon them.
Once again, I am not being rude, but simply pointing out how not to make the mistakes I have made.
I tried what you suggested and there is no left hand box.
Hi,
I just went to that page
and noticed that it started in German, no matter what I did with the perference box in the upper right hand.
Then I noticed that below the German information, it's written again in English. So just try skipping the top section, and look down at the next section.
The link always comes up in German. It is after all a
list on a German server and presented by a German
Genealogy Society. BUT, and this is a big but,
right at the very top is says in two languages:
"Anzeige dieser Seite auf / View this page in" with
the choice of language left to the user. Once you've
chosen the language, you need to click on the View
this page button to have the German turn into
something else.
