UELZEN book

Hi Mona -

Isn't genealogy fascinating ! I have been at it off and on for 40 years.
Only had a computer for the past 3 years so most of my information was obtained
the old fashioned way. AND I am tracing too many families.

I am in contact with Bill Thiemann in Grand Island. He also has had Dieter
do research for him. At this point we cannot make a connection between his
family and mine but they came from the same town.

There is no Wolle listed in the material that Dieter sent but there is a
Catharine Dorothea Wille who married Johann Christian Rieckmann.

My Thiemanns went to Illinois and then to Buean Vista County, Iowa.

I had Knöpfel/Knoepfel family who settled in and around Grand Island - Loup
City in the 1870/1880 era.

:You are correct about the names. Seems they just re-cycled the same names
over and over. My Degener family seemed to use Heinrich, Friedrich, Wilhelm
,Christian and Ludwig and just switched the order around. In my Knöpfel
family they all had the first name of Johann followed by Heinrich or Adam or
Christian or Georg and none of them used the name Johann.

Have a great weekend.
