Trying to Unsubscribe

Hello,

I am trying to unsubscribe from the list - have done I think what they are
telling me to - but then the answer comes back in German (sorry - I don't
speak german). The translation sites are a little confusing when
translated.

Can someone please advise me in English what I have to do exactly - have
enjoyed the list - but we are going away for a number of months and want to
unsubscribe from all my lists.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Jenny

Jenny,

You might try this; these are instructions that they mail out from
time to time.

You can also make such changes via email - send a message to:

    mecklenburg-l-request@genealogy.net

with the text "help" in the subject or body, and you will be emailed
instructions.

Questions or comments? Please send them to
mecklenburg-l-admin@genealogy.net.

Eric

Jenny,

Yes, it is difficult to operate the vehicle without the owner's manual. And
it is expected that all of us can figure it out all by ourselves.

First click on mecklenburg-l - genealogy.net

Then click on the dropdown box to select your language. Then click on the
button to the left which is a box which contains the text ".../View The Page
In".

Now the lower part of the page will be in English (or whichever language you
selected). Scroll down to where it says Mecklenburg-L Subscribers. Then a
little further down where it says to unsubcribe, get password reminder, or
change subscription options type your email address in the box and click on
the button to the right of the box.

And there you have the unsubscribe button.

Jenny and others,

If you are still having problems and not saying what they are, it could be
that the process sends you an email in your preferred language to confirm
that you really wanted to be unsubscribed. That is to prevent troublemakers
from unsubsubscribingyou against your will. To change it so that this email
will come to you in the language of your choice you will need to:

Go to the change options page again.

Enter your password the box for it near the top of the page. If you have
forgotten your password, click on the box for password reminder.

The new page will be in your default language. When the new server software
was installed in December everyone's language preference defaulted to
Deutche.

To change your language preference scroll down the page to find a dropdown
box along the right hand edge. Select the language you prefer (English
(USA)). Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on the box labelled
"Meine nderungen bermitteln" which means Change My Preferences.

Now go through the unsubscribe process again. The confirmation email will
come back in your selected language and follow its instructions.
