Hello –
I don’t speak German but it is my hope that we can communicate by using
translation services that are on the Internet. I hope that the translation
below is good enough for everyone to understand.
My name is Timothy “Tim” Trochelman. I live in the USA.
My great-great-grandfather and my great-great-grandmother were both from
Germany. His name was August Hinrich Trochelmann, born in March 1845 in
Germany and died in Ohio, USA on 24 November 1909.
We know that August Hinrich came to the USA with a brother, Johann Hinrich
who was born in 1849. Our family history also talks about a female relative
who came with them. We don’t know what her name was but it might be Sophie.
My research indicates that Johann arrived in the USA on 18 May 1867 on the
ship D. H. Waetjen that left Bremen, although that research might be wrong.
I have noticed that there are a lot of people with the surname Trochelmann
in and near the town of Scheeßel (Rotenburg), Lower Saxony.
I am including here the information that I know about Anna Wortmann in case
someone might have access to resources in Germany that I don’t know about.
She was born June 1850 and died in Ohio, USA on 10 December 1926. We
believe that she was born in Minden.
Thank your for your help.
Tim
