David;
What a pleasant surprise to see your note. I do have some things that I
would like looked up. I am looking for the birthplace of my ggf and ggm.
My ggf was Ernst Heinrich Bscher and he was born 1837-40 in the Hanover
region of Germany. My ggm was Marie Eleonore Louisa Huge born 1839-40 also
from the Hanover region. Hanover as you may know consisted of hundreds of
small hamlets and towns. None of my records indicate which town or village.
I have a hunch it might be Bad Essen, but its only a hunch.

A few weeks ago I sent a letter to Trinity Lutheran in Cleveland and they
found the baptismal record of Ernst and Marie's first child - (Magdalena)
Marie Eleonore Bscher. She is listed under Taufe 1866, # 12, then # 611.
Maybe she was the 12th baptism for 1866 and the 611th total baptism in the
church history?She was born 11 Feb 1866.

They also had a partial page of a marriage?...Franz Heinrich Bierb?um to
Marie?Elsabein Bsc??. The page was cut off at that point. Looks like #100
and the date might be 1864.

Here is what you could look for -
1. I am interested in if the church has a "Seelenregister" or memebers
list. If they do, could you look for Ersnt and Marie Bscher. They arrived
in Cleveland in October 1864 and were in Minnesota by late 1868.

2. When Ernst and Marie moved to Minnesota in 1868 there was a Frederick and
Katharine Huge that showed up about in 1880. They lived about 6 miles apart
and Katharine and children are listed as born in Ohio. They may be
relatives of Marie's who followed Ernst and Marie to Carver County Minn.
There are no other Huges in Minnesota on the 1880 census. Frederick and
Katharine were also Lutheran.....could you look for a marriage of Frederick
Huge to Katharine...probably about 1874 because in 1880 they had a 5 yr old
son John and a 2 year old daughter Dorotha both born in Ohio. The kids may
have been baptized in Trinity.

I wonder where you got the film from?..It could be very useful. I just
purchased the 1880 Federal cnesus from the LDA. It comes with an Index to
the US. If you need anything looked up in 1880 on a federal census let me
know.

Thank you for your kind offer.
Regards,
Lee

Hi David,

I hope you are not too overwhelmed by requests for lookups after posting that you have the microfilm for Trinity Evangelical Lutheran in Cleveland.

I am researching a family of four brothers, a sister and possibly their father who immgrated to the Cleveland area from Hanover and attended Trinity Lutheran.

Some of the information that I'm looking for:

A funeral record for the man I think is the father
Frederick (possibly Johannes Friedrich) Reinker, b. 1811, d. 8 Feb 1843, buried Monroe Cem.

Marriage Records for:

Johannes Hermann Henry Reinker
Anna Marie C. Fortlage 6 May 1860

Friedrich Christian Reinker
Anna Maria Wlecke 17 Sep 1868

Wilhelm Friedrich Reinker
Marie Lukens 6 Oct 1871

Anna Maria Elizabeth Reinker
Heinrich Wilhelm Albers 29 Aug 1872

All of these sometimes used their first, second, or third name depending on the record.

If this is too much let me know and I'll write to the church. Do you know if this microfilm is available through interlibrary loan?

Aloha

David;
Hi again from Wisconsin. My e-maill is a little messed up and I may have
already asked you for this. Can you look through the Trinity Lutheran
Church film for other families named Huge in the years 1860 - 1880. I'm not
sure when Trinity opened its doors but my great grandparents ( Ernst and
Marie (Huge) Bscher had their first child baptized there. You have already
sent me info on their daughter Marie Eleonore baptized Feb 1866.

I am trying to find other Huge's who may have been Trinity members. One of
them may include a Frederick Huge who married Katharine, had son John born
about 1875 and daughter Doratha born about 1878. By 1880 they had left
Ohio for Minnesota.

regards,
Lee
