Travel To Former Gumbinnen Region

Hello,

I am beginning to plan for a trip to the former region of
Gumbinnen (today known as Gusew, I believe) in the former
province of East Prussia.
I would like to visit the area around Gerwischkehmen/Gerven
(today known as Prioziorkoeje, I believe) including
Kasenowsken/Tannsee (today Elovoe), Wilpsichen/Eichenfeld
(today Kaspijskoe) and Klein Baitschen (today Ljubimouka)
where my grandparents and other relatives lived and farmed.
If anyone is from either of these areas or has visited these
areas I would appreciate some information on the areas and
information on the process of obtaining the needed
authorizations.

My apologies for the lack of skills in written German.

I would recommend that you get a copy of Karte des Deutschen Reiches,
Grossblatt 16a (scale 1: 100,000) to get a feeling for the geography
of that region.

Bundesanstalt f.Kartografie und Geod:asie in Frankfurt
(all spelled out in our Geneoglocail Guide...) and in my FAQs.
